These beautiful handmade ceramic "cacao pods" are crafted by our friend Auraluz in the jungle town of Chazuta, Peru. She uses ancestral techniques learned from her grandmother. They are wood fired with natural plant dyes and organic tree-resin laquer to seal them. Each one-of-a-kind bowl is painted with iconography from Jungle plants of the region.
 
We love using these for serving macambo beans, nuts, fresh or dried fruit.
 
"Cacao pods" are about 8 inches long and hold approximately 1/3 lb of Macambo beans.
 
We recommend handwashing these bowls keep their natural essence alive!
